fonttools software package provides Converts OpenType and TrueType fonts to and from XML, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonttools
fonttools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonttools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonttools *
You will get with fonttools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
